"The Provision of Health Insurance" is a perfect example of a paper on the health system.  The provision of health insurance is one of the most contentious issues in the United States, as many documentaries have uncovered the dangers and costs of not having health insurance and of having little access to free healthcare when necessary. It seems quite obvious that those without health insurance will have higher rates of mortality and morbidity because they will not be able to afford to pay for important and life-saving treatment, and this is what the study is investigating with the use of inferential statistics. It is also interesting that the research wants to explore the link between cardiovascular disease, malignant neoplasms, and mortality as these are some of the most common and deadly diseases found in the U.S. today. These diseases are also some of the most costly to treat without health insurance, as they require ongoing treatment and may continually return throughout the individual's lifetime.

The research methods that are proposed are interesting because they rely on the data of others and merely set out to show the correlation between mortality and health insurance. This means that it will not be particularly costly to complete, although it may bring some of the issues of public health to the attention of many people if published as suggested in the summary. Using the results of other people helps prevent the bias of one particular researcher because the statistics being used cover a huge amount of information from various different areas. Using quantitative research is also relevant for this type of topic, as statistics can be taken from many different studies to show the correlation. Qualitative research can give information on personal views but is not really relevant to this type of topic so it is good that the researcher has chosen to stick to quantitative research. Qualitative data is also very difficult to gather on such a large scale as required to provide enough reason to change health legislation, as the researcher hopes their research may contribute to.
