CASE STUDY: INNOVATIONS IN DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY PART II Case Study: Innovations in Distribution Strategy Part IIResponse to Grace I really admire the way and manner in which characterize the qualities and features that must be in place for same-day delivery service to be effective and efficient. Based on these some of which are provision of customer superior value, strong channel of distribution, and willingness to innovate (Perreault Jr., Cannon & McCarthy, 2014), I get a strong conviction that a business that can support this form of same-day delivery is the printing business.

There is no denying the fact that most people who have need for printing services make their orders in bulk. But on the wings of technology and innovation, it should be possible for printing houses that are into the printing of simple products such as leaflets, fliers, brochures, posters, and stickers to offer same-day delivery service. Particularly when there is an effective supply chain, such services should be same-day so that there can always be an avenue for service providers to accommodate new customers.

Though you overlooked cost involved, I would say that such service will require higher capital but eventual returns will be greater.ReferencePerreault Jr., W. D., Cannon, J. P., & McCarthy, E. J. (2014). Basic marketing: A marketing strategy planning approach (19th ed.). New York, NY: McGraw-Hill.Response to Jennifer Most of the points you make are directly or indirectly weaved around the place of technology in same-day delivery. More particularly, you focus on the role that the internet has to play in same-day delivery and I must emphasize that I perfectly agree with the position that you took.

Based on this, I want to suggest that another service that can take advantage of technology and for that matter new media to succeed in the same-day delivery business is the corporate laundry and cleaning service. It is common to see some of these laundry and cleaners take orders and putting their clients in a queue so that after a period of time client services are delivered. Through a supply chain that is well coordinated into technology, it should be able for these service providers to render same-day laundry and cleaning services.

This is particularly those that operate in urban centers as urban centers have most forms of resources needed to make technology oriented same day delivery possible (Lam & Postle, 2006).
