I have always imagined how life would be like if I were born into one of the wealthy Arab families. This came about when my family and I moved to America when I was barely a teenager and the kids around my neighbourhood kept asking how it was like back home in Saudi Arabia, what with all the wealthy princes who are well known for their lavish lifestyle. I had never really thought about it for some strange reason, but once my new neighbours started, asking my imagination got the best of me and I started to wonder about it. How would life be like if my father was a Sheikh, prince or the owner of a large oil corporation in the Middle East region? Personally, being a speed enthusiast particularly with motor bikes, I would make a point of owning a few bikes and possibly owning a racetrack where I would invite fellow enthusiasts for races while entertaining parties. I would certainly invite all the famous, professional racers from AMA Pro racing especially. My mother would not be too keen on this so I would try to butter her up by getting her culinary lessons from celebrity chefs such as Guy Savoy. She would be the least interested with the wealth in my family as she is modest and appreciates simplicity a bit too much. Her indulgence would be hosting our extended family and close friends at home and preparing a variety of dishes and desserts. My father, on the other hand, would enjoy the races as much as I would although his main vice would be cars. My sisters- twins- would probably be living in Europe, Rome particularly as they are quite fond of the language and Italian cuisine. Their main vice is designer clothes and shoes so I am certain they would enjoy Italy and Paris. I would make a point of inviting them to my racetrack parties as well as visiting them frequently, possibly in a personal jet with all the luxurious amenities! Furthermore, I would make a point of having a house or two in every continent as I enjoy travelling and learning new cultures. It would be nice to own an island as well like Richard Bronson of Virgin Island. Here, I would insist on my family and I coming together every six months for a vacation. It would make sense to own a yacht seeing as seeing as my family would own an island. The yacht would be an ideal place to hold parties for my friends and I every so often. I am keen on photography so I would own cameras with the most recent technologies along with attending the best schools for the same. I would make a point of supporting children from less fortunate families through photography where I would visit local community schools and encourage the children to pursue their hobbies. I have an uncanny penchant for watches and sneakers so I would have a room at home for all the sleekest and latest designs. For watches, I would have a collection of antique designs from wristwatches to wall clocks. Moreover, I would learn how to play at least two musical instruments probably a piano and a guitar. Once I become good at playing the piano, I would play during my mother’s parties as she enjoys classical, slow soothing music. Besides, I believe this would be a great pastime activity when I am away from home. As a fan of hip-hop music, I would be able to attend Jay Z, my favourite artist, concerts and sit at the VIP section with my friends. Even better, I would probably pay him to perform at my racetrack parties! Because of my sisters, I would learn Italian so that every time I visited them in Rome I would not feel like too much of a foreigner. Furthermore, I would learn languages of the countries which I would have a house in, as I know this would make staying there and learning about the local people’s cultures more interesting. I would document every one of my stays in the different places through photography and have a website where I would post them. In addition, as a movie fanatic I would makes sure I am invited to movie premieres particularly science fiction and action genres that feature Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington, as they are my favourite actors. Whenever possible, I would be friends directly with or be friends with people who are connected to movie producers/directors such as Christopher Nolan who would invite me to the set of movies and watch as the movies are filmed. Other than photography, the other activity I would pursue professionally would be swimming possibly under the guidance of an Olympics instructor. This is because I have always dreamed and aspired to participate in the Olympics as a swimmer. Lastly, I would ‘force’ myself to attend university not just for photography but also a course in business, as I believe living off my parents’ wealth would only be short term. Therefore, I would need to learn how to acquire such wealth and maintain my parents’ wealth if any misfortunate thing such as their death came about. This would be for not only my siblings and I, but also for our future families and this would be through gaining knowledge about business and developing an entrepreneurial spirit to maximize primarily on my photography. I would seek mentorship from my father and successful photographers, as I believe this is the best way to learn. I realize that some of these things are achievable in my current state if I put in the necessary effort and so I hope to achieve them. Nevertheless, I know that some of these things are conceivable by imagination only since knowing my mother, who is known for her modesty and self-denial, would not allow self-indulgence to certain extents, as it would be too vain and immoral. ...Download file to see next pages Read More
